The Lab (Asia) Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of SGS Group, as part of our commitment to support Young Talent who maybe our future leaders. For many years SGS have welcomed University Students to join our internship programme during the summer holiday period.

Since 2024 The Lab expanded the existing Internship by working with Education Bureau’s Business-School Partnership Programme (BSPP) to offer work experience programme to secondary school students. The BSPP aims to strengthen collaboration between businesses and schools by providing secondary school students with meaningful workplace exposure and career exploration opportunities. The Lab’s participation complements SGS Group’s existing university internship programme and reflects our belief that career exploration should begin at an early stage. While practical work experience is invaluable, making informed academic and career decisions is equally important. As secondary school students prepare to choose their university courses and future professions, early exposure to real workplace environments can help them better understand their interests, strengths, and aspirations before making these important decisions.

During their work experience programme placement at The Lab, participating students were actively involved in day-to-day operations and worked closely alongside experienced professionals. They received first-hand training in testing procedures and laboratory practices, enabling them to gain practical insights into the industry’s technical requirements and quality standards. Some students demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and adaptability, quickly developing their skills and contributing to the testing of building materials under the guidance of our laboratory team.

Looking ahead, The Lab remains committed to fostering talent development through partnerships by investing in students at different stages of their academic journey. We aim to inspire future professionals and contribute to the long-term development of Hong Kong’s talent pipeline and some of them maybe future leaders in our company.
