HKIA 3RS on-site materials testing laboratory, commissioned to The Lab (Asia) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the SGS Group, was first accredited by HKAS in July 2020 and has since been providing professional construction materials testing services to suppliers and contractors to this enormous infrastructure project. As of Jun 2021, the project has completed the pavement work of 3.7 kilometres and over 100,000 tonnes of asphalt, which have undergone rigorous testing by TLA and conformed with the standards set forth by the Hong Kong Airport Authority. All services of Concrete, Soil, Asphalt, and Metallic Materials testing will be granted by HKAS accreditation in July 2021. And those services are now ready to ensure all materials and workmanship are in conformity with project standards.
