Recently, The Lab (Asia) Limited and Hilti HK successfully co-organised the Fire Testing Technical Seminar and Laboratory Visit at our Shunde Fire Testing Laboratory, as the final event of Hilti’s Fire Safety Week. The event concluded successfully, and we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all industry guests for their active participation in this insightful and valuable knowledge sharing session.

The Lab (Asia) Limited, a subsidiary of SGS Group has long been responsible for SGS and The Lab Fire Testing and Product Certification Services in Hong Kong. This event was specially arranged in collaboration with Hilti HK to align with their Fire Safety Week. During the seminar session, the Hilti team delivered an in-depth presentation on their Fire Protective Design solutions, introducing relevant products and professional services, and demonstrating how innovative design and engineering can effectively enhance fire safety performance in buildings. In parallel, the Fire Testing Laboratory Manager provided a comprehensive overview of Fire Testing standards applicable to Hong Kong and other international markets, highlighting their importance and practical relevance to regulatory compliance and market acceptance. The session also covered the test report identification and verification technologies adopted by The Lab, further reinforcing the credibility and integrity of Fire Test reports.

Following the seminar, participants were invited to visit the Shunde Fire Testing Laboratory, to closely examine Hilti products that had completed fire testing. Through real‑world examples, the fire performance of Hilti products under high‑temperature conditions was demonstrated on site. This was complemented by practical explanations of the key technical points and procedures of fire testing, fully bridging theory and practice.

The event successfully fostered meaningful engagement among Hilti, The Lab, and industry guests, strengthening industry standards and collaboration while reinforcing our shared commitment to advancing fire safety through higher standards and innovation.
