WeYoung is an organization under Dragages Hong Kong Limited that represents junior employees pursuing careers in engineering, safety and commercial aspects; their goal is to place the professional development of young members at the forefront. The Lab (Asia) Limited (TLA), which has collaborated with Dragages Hong Kong Limited for many years was delighted to support WeYoung development of their members by organizing a Technical Visit to our testing laboratories with WeYoung. This Technical Visit took place on March 29 and has successfully provided insights for TLA technical expertise of building materials testing to those WeYoung members who participated.

Technical Visit Highlights:

• Seminar: An introduction of TLA where WeYoung members can learn about the company’s background and operations.
• Steel Laboratory: An overview of TLA’s steel testing processes, including demonstrations of the machinery and measurement techniques used in steel testing.
• Concrete Laboratory: An explanation of the concrete testing processes from receiving samples to the actual testing.
• Soil Laboratory: TLA staffs testing demonstration to help WeYoung members see how some of the tests are done practically.
• Innovative Technologies: An opportunity for WeYoung members to observe our latest Robotic Facilities for Concrete and Soil Testing, in which we assign some of the repetitive tasks to be done with robotic arms, which hope to let WeYoung members get a glimpse of the AI and automation trends in construction materials testing.

During the Technical Visit, WeYoung members were very passionate and energetic, and many of them actively participated in the interactive conversation. Looking forward to future collaborations and hope to create new possibilities in construction technology!
